Nature nest - Social media campaign

Nature Nest is a Social Media campaign aiming to educate Melbourne and greater Victoria about the natural flora and fauna surrounding them. The campaign will provide guidance on how to nurture the green spaces around them, and to also utilise natures gifts.

The City of Melbourne is rich in biodiversity, with over 239 species of birds, 12 species of reptiles, 18 species of mammals, 7 species of frogs, over 1500 species of insects, and 31 species of fish recorded in the last 20 years.

THE PROBLEM

Because of the increase of human activities across the world, the need for conservation of biodiversity increases. Such a requirement is even more pro- found in urban landscapes where human-caused disturbance is intrinsic.

- Wildl Res.

Start a 6 week campaign based on a current matter that impacts Melbourne. Uphold a standard of social media posting on Instagram, Facebook and X (formally Twitter). With blog posting on a Wordpress Website + sending out 1x EDM per week for all subscribers.

My target matter is to focus on Melbourne’s biodiversity and how you can cultivate the life in your surrounds.

The Solution

Community Engagement and Education: Raise awareness among residents, businesses, and community groups about the importance of biodiversity conservation. Encourage active participation in citizen science projects, community-based conservation initiatives, and environmental education programs.
